  • Game Night Appetizers?

Happy Friday all! We're having some friends over next week for a game night and I'd love some suggestions on what to serve. We're doing mainly heavy appetizers but not a full on dinner, so I need ideas for appetizers that are a little more filling but can still be eaten without too much mess while we play, and is LC friendly. Anyone? Anyone?

Korean style California rolls ...you know !!!

you take nori squares toast with sesame oil sprinkle with seeds and make a pile on a plate...then take a platter and around it make piles of julliened carrots, green onions, diakon, shredded crab and an shredded egg pancake..whatever ...then in the center of your pile circle put a bowl of soy sauce mixed with ginger and wasabi everyone takes noris and stuffs all the ingredients and dips

I never have any of this left at the end of an evening people love it and it goes with every diet ...low carb low fat low calorie it does not matter it is a very healthy appetizer for anyone ok if you are on a low sodium this will not work

          Come on now...no Buffalo Wings?!?!!?

          Ok, how about...
          - scallops wrapped in bacon (so good!)
          - Cheese, pepperoni, and mustard.
          - cocktail weenies with mustard (could put a melted chili cheese dip out for them)
          - pepperoni dip (my personal favorite!) usually you serve this with bagels or bread, but you could sub in zucchini or soemthing like that.
          Higgies

I was at my cousins last night and she made some awesom skewers. it was cubed mozzerella, chunks of red and yellow peppers, cherry tomatos and basil leaves, she put them on wooden skewers then brushed them with itialian dressing and served. they were amazing and really easy!

              Re: Game Night Appetizers?

Thanks for all the suggestions so far guys! It's looking like the menu has turned into a Mexican theme, we have people bringing assorted Mexican inspired appetizers.

On our part so far I'm looking at doing "macho nachos", ie. taco meat (homemade seasonings, not the packaged stuff) with LC tortilla chips (regular chips for the non LC folks), cheese sauce and assorted toppings. I think I'm personally going to nix even the LC chips for me and maybe do the toppings on a bed of lettuce and make kind of a nacho salad. I'm trying to stay away from the LC products as much as possible. And I think I'm going to do kind of a chicken enchilada stuffed mushroom recipe (I'm totally making this up as I go along) - stuffing the mushrooms with grilled chicken, cream cheese, cheddar/jack cheese, hot sauce and diced jalapenos. Hope it turns out okay!
