LOL I just went to say something to my son and I gleeked (ya know when the spit shoots out from under your tongue) all over him!! ROFL I am glad he is too young to be grossed out by Momma cooties! Sorry about the TMI. This food thread has me all a fluster!

Re: Yes I love to eat like this!

I had blackened chicken and I had forgotten that I had made a batch of firecrackers and stuck them in the fridge so I could cook them just before DH got home. MOG is evil for introducing me to those bacon wrapped cheese stuffed jalapenos! D@mn they are soooo good. We used sour cream mixed with Frank's as a condiment (Everything must have a condiment!) Even the little man had sour cream and Frank's with his non-blackened chicken. I wasn't gonna give him any at first but he kept reachin' over to dip in my plate. He's a wild man! *proud momma face*

Well, I made the chicken parmesan tonight for my entire family and they loved it. Thank you so much for posting a link to it. I had to call all over town to find almond meal, but I did and it was a great hit. Thanks again!

Mary, I made my own almond flour. Get a coffee grinder and some fresh almonds. Some people will blanch the almonds to remove the brown skin and then grind them for a white flour. I don't mind the shell, so I just toss the raw nuts into the coffee grinder and grind them until a flour consistency. I get a big bag of raw almonds at Sam's Club and store them in the freezer until I need to use them.

Christina--I think you misread the book. You can stay on the induction phase for 2 weeks or up to 6 months (some stay on it longer), but that IS NOT the entire plan. Please read the chapters on Ongoing Weight Loss. That is the BULK of the diet plan. The induction phase is just the first part of the plan.

Re: Yes I love to eat like this!

Thanks, Joy, that is a great idea. I do have a coffee grinder that I use for coffee, so I will get another one for making my own flour. I found it at Trader Joe's and it was about 1/2 of what I found online, so that was good for last night, but from now on, I will make my own.

I was just reading (I think in Dana's cookbook) that grinding them with the brown skin actually increases the fiber amount, thus making the carb count less.

The broccoli chees bites sound good. Have you tried them yet Barb's?

I heard that too. If you want the skin but don't feel like grinding your own almonds, Netrition sells unblanched almond flour. Another bonus: it's a little cheaper than the blanched almond flour.

The unblanced flour is AWESOME for the Almond Thin crackers on Linda's website. More like a "whole-grain" cracker.

Not yet, but I did get the ingredients yesterday. Tony had a ballgame, so dinner was late last night, and simple, burgers and hot italian sausage on the grill. Maybe tonight! I'll let ya know!

Barb, you know what I want to try with that breading? Soft Shell Crab! OMG, I adore fried soft shelled carb...I wonder if they still have some at Whole Foods or if I'm too late.

I grind my nuts with the skin on for fiber like Barb said and because I think it adds a nice flavor

I grind the nuts with the skin on 1) because I'm lazy, and 2) for the additional fiber.

MOG--I TOTALLY have to have fried soft shell crab now!! Glad you thought of it. I'll be on a mission to find some now LOL Oh, my best friend's DH has some mahi-mahi and some shark they caught...I can bread that with this too. Yummy!
