  • What's for dinner?

This morning I put a Corned Beef Brisket in the slow cooker with rutabaga, carrots (and potatos for the man). I'll add the cabbage when I get home and voila, dinner is served! I love my slow cooker, especially on a Monday!

Why do you add the cabbage when you get home Mog? I always add it in the morning. Is it better consistency or something?

I have leftover coleslaw and broccoli salad from my party yesterday. I made both so they are safe. I was going to make homemade hamburgers for dinner. The kids can have the leftover potato salad. There's no sugar in it but it's full of potatoes so I can't eat it. lol

I don't like my cabbage squishy! It only takes a few minutes to cook so I'll add it in when I get home and it'll be done in no time and still be just a tad firm.

Squishy cabbage! lol That's funny. Your way sounds better. I didn't think it would cook, but I have a new slow cooker (the original was from my first wedding which was......25 years ago?!?) and things seem to cook better. Now I have to go buy a cabbage. And something to slow cook. My ds doesn't like squishy cabbage either. hee

I have no idea what we're having..i haven't been grocery shopping so i don't have much to choose from. If it stops raining i'll run out at lunch (my jeep has no roof right nowso when it's raining i'm stuck w/o a vehicle) and get something to bbq, maybe chicken breasts. I'll keep my eye on this thread for ideas i think

Pulled pork with broccoli and cheese

I made a pork roast on saturday and have left overs to fry up in the skillet for reheating and then serve it with the broccoli and cheese.

Tonight is going to be a wilted endive and spinach salad with warm bacon dressing and a poached egg on top of it all. And a side of red bean spread on a fiber-rye cracker.

So far we're having turkey breast (one of the pre-roasted kind, probably sauteed in some butter and shallots) and pumpkin-tatoes (canned pumpkin cooked with Splenda, cinnamon & nutmeg). Always makes my husband think of Thanksgiving.

I must have this recipe. Every time I cook shirataki, they have a funky aftertaste. But at 1 carb and virtually no calories, who cares? LOL
