  • Rival Deep Fryer or Presto Fry Daddy Junior?

Oh finally i've made up my mind to buy a deep fryer. I'm a graduate student with not much money. I was wondering which of the above fryer's would be long lasting and does anyone use it? Any tips for buying one of these would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have the Presto cheapie unit, it isn;t bad, but I am planning on upgrading. Do yourself a favor and save up at least $50 to pick up a Delonghi unit with an oil filter and a closeable lid.

Depending on the amount of people in your family, get as large one as possible. It is when the oil temp drops that your foods get nasty and soak up the grease. I bought the 4 qt GE model at Wal-Mart with the heater unit in the grease rather than heating the container to heat the grease. I think it represents the best technology (especially since the place usually heated is the same place covered by crumbs).
