im new to atkins . i started the plan yesterday. i need to know how many carbs are in celery . someone told me it was 1 carb for 1 cup raw ....then i see on the site that it is 1.5 carbs for 3 stalks... which is it ?? thanks michele
It is really useful to get a free account at www.fitday.com so that you can customize your own measurements...like stalks, cups etc. You can get a really accurate reading that way! Be sure to subtract fiber since it doesn't count towards your daily carb intake!
A 5 inch stalk has .62 grams but you subtract the .289 for fiber so you end up with .331. A cup of strips has 4.53 grams minus 2.11 grams of fiber so 2.42 total. A cup of diced, however, has 4.38 minus 2.04 fiber so you get 2.34.
Some things seem trivial but there are times when the way you measure and account for the carbs can be huge at the end of the day!
