I have always been a fan of Indian style Masala Chai.
Recently I figured, why not make my own spice blend for it.
This is what I used:
Four or five cardamom pods (green)
couple sticks of cinnamon
several crushed cloves
several crushed black peppercorns
pinch of saffron threads
I simply boil some water, remove from heat, put into a mug and let the spices steep in the mug for a bit. After about ten minutes I strain out the bits and add a bit of heavy cream and some Splenda. Quite tasty, IMO. Anyone else make their own spiced teas? What do you use if you do?
