ok I have had enough coffee and am going to go pick some of them before work ..I will start my day with fresh berries and yogurt then make a huge crisp to take to work with me since it is my Friday on other peoplesTuesday and I want to gloat
I do make a low carb crisp with the following if you want to try it
fill a pan with lots of fresh berries (9 by 13)
toss some sweetener in if you like but just a little since the topping is sweet try to under do it because the tartness is what is good against the sweet topping
then mix together
1 1/2 cups of ground nuts of your choice I like hazelnuts for this
1 cup oats (or ground flax seeds
not for me but to each his own)
1 cup unsalted butter
1/2 tsp salt
sweetener is to taste I used 4 packets of splenda mixed with 4 packets of cyclamates but you can use all splenda or any mix you like
mix this all together and crumble over the berries then bake at 350 until golden brown and the fruit bubbles about 35-40 min ..serve with fresh whipped cream and smile because you can eat this in a reasonable amt and be thin
off to the berry patch ..I am so lucky I can pick berries in my pj's
