Why do they have to ruin dried fruit by adding "high fructose corn syrup" or "sugar" to them?

Why not just order the nuts online, www.nutsonline.com and get a food dehydrator??Supermarkets (at least the common ones) stock what sells the most. Most people prefer salt and sugar in all their food, unfortunately. Have you looked in Health food places, or nutrition stores? They are more likely to carry them.~Susan

Since I've been on Atkins, I am constantly going through the stores going "WHY? WHY? WHY?"
Why does there need to be sugar in meat? Why does there need to be high fructose corn syrup in most anything. My DH is always laughing at me. I feel your pain.~Joy

do you have a Trader Joes there? you can get all kinds of unsweetened fruits and untainted nuts there raw and roasted ..the price is right as well

Oh what a great idea. You could probably make sugar free leathers. No, never mind, they would be dangerous. LOL
Health food stores often have sugar free dried fruit.

I spent the weekend making "sundried" tomatos and several kinds of peppers with my dehydrator. I love it, and it makes great dried fruits!

Went to Trader Joes this after noon and they do have a great selection of dried fruit without sweetner, and some without sulfur.
