  • Request For Flax Seed Grinders

Just a little request from curious me.

If you own a food scale, the next time you grind an amount, can you please post the amount of whole seed (tablespoon, cup) and the weight of that amount (ounces or grams will be fine).

    Thanks,
    Megs.

Meg I just ground 1 T seed and got almost 2T back of meal it was about 1/16th of a t short. I keep my seeds in the freezer it this has any effect. it weighed the same amount on the scales. I used my fingers to get all the meal out of the grinder

Thanks 2Big. It's really the weight I'm wondering about. I've measured with the spoons and have weighed them and I get slightly different measures and weights every time. When I compare them to the info on the bag...well, let's just say, my grams per tablespoon doesn't jive with their grams per tablespoon.

I've always weighed my other nuts and seeds in order to be as carb accurate as possible. But now I'm beginning to think the same should be done for flaxseed as well because a 2Big tablespoon might be measured differently than a Megs tablespoon---which would mean some recipes have a higher actual count than the figured count.

            MoG and Walnut, thanks anyway.
