  • chipotle hot wings

OMG you guys have to try this ...I am constantly playing with the hot wings and this is the best variation I have found!

for one giant batch of wings ...cut the wings up soak in salted water for 14 min...dry and set them aside

in a pot over medium combine and bring to a simmer the following
    1/2 cup Franks hot sauce
    1/2 cup lousiana hot sauce
1 can chipotle peppers in adobo (then need to be chopped or tossed in the blender)
    1 cup unsalted butter
    3 crushed garlic cloves
and the juice of two limes

deep fry your wings until crispy in batches and as they come out of the oil put them right in the sauce ..toss around and spread out on a pan while you finish batches

this is not a refined or formal recipe but I have to say my husband's eyes when he ate these was worth every moment of the prepartation that is for sure

    try them!!!

    Re: chipotle hot wings

I would love to, but I cant lay my hands on any of the following ingredients -

    1/2 cup Franks hot sauce
    1/2 cup lousiana hot sauce
1 can chipotle peppers in adobo (then need to be chopped or tossed in the blender)

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

And I would imagine Rich they'd taste pretty strange if you left out those ingredients

You'd have to call them butter, garlic lime wings

THey sound great heidi, I have a really good Chipotle sauce..wonder if i could mix that with the others instead of the peppers themselves?

Those sound fantastic. I've used chipolte peppers in a few different dishes. I'm a big fan of Frank's sauce. Tabasco actually has a chipolte hot sauce, but it didn't bowl me over.

Mexican people are close to non existant here, from what I can make out, especially in my home town. We do have a lot of Jamaican stores however in one of the major cities that I live close to.

I am not aware of any of the brand names for the sauces though as I dont shop there.
