  • Dreamfield pasta

gave me tummy pain!!!! ...I wonder if it was the inulin?

that is the end of that experiment for me food should give pleasure not discomfort imho.....the texture of the spaghetti was good but the taste was kind of flat....and my stomach is really unhappy ....

I have a package left too bad no kids to do macaroni art because I am not eating it again

That is a shame your stomach couldn't handle it. It makes awesome macaroni salad.
Not something I eat a lot but for barbeques you can't beat it!

Have you tried Barilla Plus, its a little chewier than regular, but I like the flavor. Its made with semolina, but also lentil/chickpea/oats/barley and flaxseed and wheat fiber. Since your at goal you should try it. Total carbs are 38g but it has 4g of fiber.

Yep Heidi............ that would be the inulin. I stick to it as a side dish and at the max I have 1 cup, usually less and NEVER any more.

I just had a 3/4 cup of helathy harvest pasta and tomatoes... It was delish-- I hope it does not bother my tummy..

It has been sitting in my pantry for awhile now, it was either that or regular pasta with the kid and hubby-- so I cook 3/4 cup uncooked of needles-- I was pleasantly surprised how good it was...

Maybe because I havent had pasta in over 4 months... Let's jsut hope I do not get any adverse effects, tummy or craving or even worse-- weight gain!!!

I've never had a problem with it. And to me it tastes exactly like regular pasta, John can't tell the difference either, he never even knew he was eating a low carb spaghetti!

I love it and had never had any problems. Taste just like the real thing to me. But then I'm not a picky eater.

I have to say it's the only food that I've eaten that has caused serious cravings afterwords. I only had it the once and figured it wasn't worth it..I was starving after (and it was as a sidedish). The spaghetti is still sitting in my cupboard. Though I was impressed with the taste. I noticed they stopped selling it in my grocery store so I don't think it was very popular here.

The one thing I do want to try is their lasagna noodles. I figure that would be alot less of ithe pasta in a serving, it would be mostly the fillings then.. I miss my lasgna!

ps my husband liked it but noted his tummy was grumbling afterwards ...it did not cause him any discomfort and he may have just said that because I was miserable ...

Bren was telling us that if you overcook it you will get the sugar spike like you would with regular pasta. Also if you cook it twice like with lasagna. So if you got cravings from the spaghetti, the lasagna would probably do the same to you! I have been waiting for the lasagna noodles, but so far they aren't stocking them at my local grocer.

Wonder if you could use the lasagna noodles w/o cooking them, like you can with regular lasagna noodles? That's always been how i've made lasagna, just let them cook in the juices from the tomato sauce etc in the oven. That might help?

They don't stock any dreamfields at all here in my grocery store..they do have the lasagna noodles at a low carb grocery here though. I might have to try them out...

My hubby gets the McGurgles from the Dreamfields pasta. Have you guys tried the Yam Noodles (I can't think of what they're called). Those really tear my stomache up!

I like Dreamfields as an occasional thing (like maybe once a month), but always stick to no more than 1 + 1/2 of their servings (which is only two thirds of a small portion here in Italy). I have it as a first course and find it quite ok, compared to regular pasta. So far so good gurglewise.
