  • Speaking of herbs and spices Epazote anyone?

I honestly have not met anyone who knew about the herb let alone used it ..unless they were from the Southwest of Arizona or from Mexico...

    but I LOVE EPAZOTE!!!!
it is an earthy herb (no it does not taste like dirt!)

here is a good write up about it ...

I do not think you can make pinto beans with out it to be honest...and it is wonderful used sparingly in green chile, or roasted tomatillo salsa ..seems to go best with green stuff ...

it is a very stronge herb so if you are lucky enough to actually find it ..then go easy until you get used to it or you will be put off I think

I had a huge plant in my garden.... thought I had killed became very depressed over the whole thing then last week I uncovered a pretty good sized plant that was at the other end of the yard

I think this is another herb I like better dried then fresh ...

I've been tempted to grow it. I've never tried it, but I heard that if you eat too much, your mouth begins to tingle/burn?
