    made the flaxseed bread!

It's good! But I feel guilty eating it because it tastes so much like "regular" bread! I make sure I only eat a small piece (flaxseed meal has 4 carbs per 2 tbs?). I sliced it into the regular bread slice widths...each piece is an inch and a half high. so I figured half a slice per day is probably ok?

It's funny how I feel like it's not allowed...even though I know it has no flour or sugar LOL.

Tastes good and I love it!

If you are OWL, you can use the nuts/seeds limit of 1 ounce for your flax---just remember not to eat any other nut/seed at 1 ounce for the remainder of the day.

Good for you and your flaxbread. I've made it before and it was a bit too slimy for my tastebuds.

Ah thanks! I still have to get my food scale More reason now to do that so I know how much bread I can have.

Slimy?? Mine turned out drier than regular bread, alike to the consistency of pumpernickel (sp?)....maybe it depends on the recipe?

I've tried it and re-tried it...Mine always turn out like a big hunk of overcooked beaten egg with flax meal in it. Very unappetizing to look at. Very unappetizing to smell and tasting it...well, I don't mind slime (I love okra) but that was too slimy.

Ah, I see. Well everyone has their favorite and not so favorite foods. However I should tell you, I am like "Mikey" in the commercials, I eat everything!

actuaslly flax has tones of fiber in it too if you look at your container it should come out to a fraction of a carb per tablespoon about .78 net carbs for 2T.

DId you make Books bread or Nullo Mondo's

              Re: made the flaxseed bread!

I make the flax cakes 3-4 a week for breakfast. Goes great with bacon or whatever. Single serving is easy, as is doubling it and refridgerating one of them. My flax lists 4 carbs total and 4 carbs fibre, so I'm not quite sure on the carb count. I get 3 tablespoons in a single serving.

Oh...must have been the Books one, I didn't use any yeast. Just baking powder and baking soda for leavening.
