  • Turkey Sausage

Was wondering if anyone's had positive experience with eating Turkey sausage. I was shopping earlier and saw that unlike the other sausages, it had 0g of sugar rather than the 1-2g's the others had.

    Nope. Most sausages contain sugar.

However, if you don't mind cooking you can make your own sausage.

A basic sausage mixture is 3:1 lean meat to fat, spices, salt and pepper. Turkey is incredibly lean, so alot of homemade turkey sausage recipes include some kind of fruit or veg to prevent that dry texture.

For a turkey sausage similiar in flavor to a country pork sausage, I would use ground turkey, finely chopped onion (put it in a food processor or blender), dried sage, ground pepper, salt. Mix it together. Refrigerate overnight. Then form into patties and fry. For an Italian type sausage, just change the spices to fennel seeds and dried basil and/or oregano.
