    Guinea Fowl?

Has anyone ever eaten Guinea Fowl before? I bought one at the weekend to have for our sunday lunch and it was really nice. I had never seen them before and it made a nice change.

I don't think you can buy those here. I tried duck on the weekend. I didn't like it much. You don't get very much meat for what you have to pay. Was your guinea fowl gamey or did it taste like chicken, or what?

Is that the same thing as Guinea Pig or Hamster?

Of course, you would have to substitue the flour with something else, maybe Almond flour?

                  Re: Guinea Fowl?

We get lots of guinea fowl over here... the farmers cook them on wood fires, or stew them in wine (with a very reduced sauce). They're delish! Never cooked one myself but if I can cadge a recipe from someone, will post it.
