  • ALMOND FLOUR/MILL?

    Hello, I have a question, where can I get almond flour at? and also is almond flour and almond mill flour the same thing...? thanks so much.

    I think someone answered you already in the other thread you started.
    but, You can get almond flour at health food stores or places like Whole Food Grocery if they are in your area. Or you can buy almonds and grind them yourself. Almond flour and Almond "Meal" are the same thing if that is what you are asking.

      Trader Joe's has the best price for Almond Flour of any grocery store I have seen.

        If you buy it at Trader Joes, make sure it's blanched almond flour (no skins). The slight bitterness from the skins will be detectable in subtle baked goods. My Trader Joes only has the unblanched stuff but maybe there are some out there with the blanched version.

        Trader Joes has very cheap blanched slivered almonds as well. If you have a food processor, those can be processed into a flour.

          I prefer the skin-on almond flour for some types of baked goods such as savory, hearty breads, but if you are trying for a delicate cake batter you need ground blanched almonds without the skins.

              For a crust? I have always used whole nuts (skin and all) for crusts, but do as you wish .
