  • Chili question???

    Planning to make some chili...........I always used Kidney Beans (Love them) and was thinking of using Green Beans this time......I know it sounds funny...but I like green beans and this would be MUCH lower carbs.......anyone ever try it that way or am I the only strange person here

    Does sound a little strange, but green beans are in tomato-based things like chicken...dang, forget the name fo the dish now...

    Anyway...how about lima beans? Those have much fewer carbs than kidney beans, from what I can tell on fitday and I think you'd get a much better consistency.

      Another thing you can use is Black Soy Beans - if at appropriate rung. The brand I had was listed with 7 carbs but with 7 fibre.

        Thanks for the ideas.......this time I will try the green beans because I already have them at home...but these others sound good too.

            I would suggest adding the green beans towards the last 15-20 minutes of cooking. Also you might want to slice them into narrow circles, rather than keeping them like small logs.
