  • 3?(involving garlic, freezing portions, hamburger pattys)

I didn't want to put three seperate questions so I hope this is ok.

I made the pizza from Linda's site on Sunday.

It called for garlic powder. *shudder* I didn't have any in the house so I went without. My mom used to be a very lazy cook and I remember she had that. Since being out on my own(living in Belgium) I only use real garlic. We can buy garlic powder here however. Should I go ahead and buy the garlic? or mince it and put it in with the "crust" ingredients. Or roast it and smash it up good and include it like that in the crust. The pizza was very good as is but perhaps it could be even better with garlic.

I am making quiche/casserole type things to put in the freezer individual portions. Would it be ok to put the portions in ziplock bags and stack them in freezer like that? I have just a normal type freezer so I figure this would save space. Normally I only freeze big amounts of food and use ice cream boxes for that.

I buy pre-made hamburgers. However I notice that ground beef is a few dollars cheaper then the hamburgers. Can I make my own patties? How would I go about this. I did google searches and didn't have any luck. Do I need to add egg or any spices, etc? My food budget is out of control so it would be nice to know how to make them myself.

I would very much appreciate any help that anyone can offer. Thank you!

I wrote a whole post and it went Poof!
The answer to all your questions is Yes.
I would crush the garlic and put it witht he toppings or the crust. I LOVE garlic.
I make egg quiches and put in freezer bags all the time
For hamburgers I us an ice cream scoop, rool it into a ball, flatten the put on a cookie sheet or wax paper and put in the freezer. The next day I put them in a freezer bag and they wont stick to each other. You can add extras to is or not. Its wha you like.

Thank you for answering my questions. I will have to try the hamburger thing when my freezer is less full. I have a huge turkey in it now.
