maybe you have a bakery or restaurant supply house that is open to the public as well as wholesale the ones here have all kinds of baking chocolate as well as all kinds of extracts and seasonings

Chocolate substitution according to The Food Lover's Tiptionary:

For 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate, use 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder plus 1 tablespoon butter.

I would melt the butter, then stir the cocoa powder into it. I can't imagine mashing softened butter together with the cocoa powder....

Thanks HeidE and Not2Late - great ideas. I'll go hunting it down (the thrill of the chase!) and if unsuccessull that subsitute looks great! It would be good for if I run out too.

I wasnt impressed with the chocolate selection when I went to Florida, stuck to M&M's as they were one of the few things I recognised!

The UK is the land of awesome chocolate? Most europeans would disagree! There were plans to call UK chocolate 'chocolate flavoured confectionary' under some EU law because the coco content is too low...or something

All I can say is Thorntons. It's pure evil, LOL.

I wasnt impressed with the chocolate selection when I went to Florida, stuck to M&M's as they were one of the few things I recognised!

Cadbury's sells a bar here now called Cadbury's Delight..it's a sugar free version of a Dairy Milk bar..it is by far the creamiest, closest to real chocolate, s/f bar i've found yet! I have one about once a month as a treat...they're amazing, though they do have about 6 or 8 net carbs even minus the sa's.

My sister used to manage a branch of Thorntons and got to bring home all the stuff just at sell by date! Not my fave chocolate though - chocolat hotel is amazing!

Baarb, there is one where I live! I LOVE their chocolate! Altho I've only tasted a limited selection but their amerretto truffles are so lush!
