I made lasagna for the family last night, but made 1/2 of it with sliced squash instead of noodles........would this be legal on induction?

Cottage cheese isnt legal on induction I'm afraid, also you need to be extra careful with the spaghetti sauce as there is often added sugar in it.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

        Re: Lasagna

Probably a bit much for the first two weeks of induction, but what a fantastic recipe for Ongoing Weight Loss phase. It could be induction friendly just by switching Mozzerella and maybe some cream cheese instead of the cottage cheese. Just watch your tomato sauce for sugar in the ingredients. All tomato sauce has some "sugars" on the nutritional label because tomatoes have sugars naturally--you want to make sure they didn't ADD sugar or corn syrup as an ingredient. I typically find that the grocery store brands don't add sugar while the name brand stuff does...go figure.

            Re: Lasagna

i made this tonight except we didnt use ricotta cheese or cottage cheese, we used feta cheese which is pricier then cottage cheese...thats why most people choose to use cottage cheese..if youre willing to spend a bit more money its legal...also we used zucchini along with the squash and ragus spagetti sauce thats the mushroom kind..its 10 carbs for 1/2 a cup which you wont eat all that in a piece of lasagna...mmmmm so good!

I personally am in love with the Spinach Lasagna recipe on Linda's Low Carb site... and I think that recipe is induction legal unaltered...

Just a warning....the only "squash" that are legal for Induction phase is 'summer squash', spaghetti squash and pumpkin. Summer squashes are zucchini, yellow or crooked neck squash and patty-pan or scallop squash.

Winter squashes like acorn squash, butternut squash, hubbard squash, etc. are NOT Induction foods, but are allowed during the "higher carb vegetable rung".
