  • Mayonnaise!!!?

Trying to go off suggestions for increasing the fat in my daily intake, and was looking to add some mayonnaise. At first I started with Krafts, but I noticed although it was 0 carbs, it listed sugar (in very small amounts) to the ingredients.

Then I read the forums and everybody said they liked Hellman's, and when I looked it up, it listed sugar as well.

Is this considered a necessary evil or (other than making your own) is there anything out there without sugar??

Personally, I used Kraft for the past year until this month when I found Dukes (which does NOT have added sugar).

I, too, most often use Kraft REAL mayo- the sugar doesn't even get its own spot in the ingredients list it's grouped in there with the "less than 2% of" items...Duke's is no sugar so if you can find that and try it you'll know you're not getting even a teensy bit...I just tossed an almost new jar of Duke's after buying it for the fisrt time because I didn't like the taste of it - but many people swear by it!

I just got back from Safeway/Trader Joe's and couldn't find Dukes anywhere. But Trader Joe's had their own brand which specifically lists "No sweetener whatsoever has been used."

Ingredients: expeller pressed canola oil, whole eggs, apple cider vinegar, egg yolks, water, salt, spices, lemon juice concentrate.

        Everything ok on induction?

That looks fine to me - I hope someone else will chime in if not!

I've never had a problem with the bit of sugar in mayo. But we all have to remember that it can be a food that illicits more cravings and should be used cautiously and not in excess, like anything, really!
(Also, I'm partial to the Whole Foods store brand. Has a little extra kick to it)
