  • Giving Flax another try

I never liked flax because it gave the food a very slimy, nasty, gluey, nasty, slimy, nasty, texture.

But I found a bag in my freezer, so I figured I'll give it another try (and use up the bag---I hate wasting money!)

What foods are you giving a second chance?

I keep trying to give turnips a second, third, fourth chance. I want to like them...but haven't found them to taste good no matter how I've prepped them. This next go round I'm going to put them in a crockpot stew and see if the slowness of the cooking makes a difference. Or if the flavors of the other foods will fuse and cover up the foul-ness of the turnip.

Raw celery is something I keep on and on coming back to... and still don't like it much. Cooked is great though.

Cauliflower for me, I only tolerated it before. But since I discovered Linda's recipe site I always have it on hand. I wish I could have more than a cup a day now! The loaded recipe is just like a baked potato and it was a wonderful thing when I realized I could make a mashed potato substitute.
