  • Cooked Shrimp

    Hey there guys!

Anyone know if there's anyhting I can make with shrimp I got for shrimp cocktail the other day? It's already cooked, still frozen, and they're the jumbo (or at least large). I had some for cocktail the other day, but now I don't feel like waiting until 10Pm for them to be thawed! Thanks in advance!

If you don't want to eat them frozen, you can ship them overnite to this little kitten I know...

(or if you could throw them in a gumbo or have fondu...)

To thaw them, just run them under cold water for 5 minutes.

Then I would toss them in melted butter with garlic YUMMMMM, or add them to stir-fry.

I guess I can jsut thaw them like that. I thought you had to leave them out! I've been dying to make a scampi, but since these are already cooked won't they not absorb the flavors as much?

Not sure about absorbing the flavours but I do know that if ithey are already cooked, and you reheat them there's a chance that they'll overcook and go a bit rubbery. They're still really good though!

I do buy bags of precooked shrimp for quick meals. I usually have them with cooked cauiflower in a curry. yum!

Yeah, I sauteed them with butter and garlic powder for a short time. They got slightly rubbery, but not bad. Tasted good. Thanks guys!!

              Re: Cooked Shrimp

Higgies, I saw a recipe for a shrimp "dip" that used cooked shrimp. It was basically cooked shrimp, mayo, cream cheese, alittle onion, alittle sweet peppers, etc. I figured it would make a good 'shrimp salad' type thing.
