  • DreamField Pasta

    I just found DreamField pasta at Krogers!!! I think they must have just started carrying it because I've never seen it before. Is it really only 5 carbs
    Is it good??? I wonder if I can get Serena (my 6 year old) to eat it. She's a PASTA-AHOLIC!!! It's what she wants every single night for dinner. I'm also Italian, and Sunday was always pasta day for us, and I've missed it. We even have pasta for the holidays...lol.
    Has it been know to cause stalls or cravings with anyone??? Thanks for the help

    Here's a thread about it:
    http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ad.php?t=39987

    Some people cannot tolerate the fiber used in the pasta and get stomach problems (flatulence, diarrhea, bloating, cramping, etc.) Some people have blood sugar issues with it.

    They label it as 5 net carbs because the fiber in it supposedly slows the digestion of the carbs, so the sugars aren't released into your blood as rapidly as regular pasta. So you still ARE eating the 40 carb grams. It was originally marketed to diabetics, but they found it was more profitable to market it to low carbers.

      The taste is great. I am one of the people that react negatively in an intestinal way. My husband loves it, and can't tell the difference between this and the real deal.

        I think whenever it seems to good to be true it probably is >_<;;

            Re: DreamField Pasta

            The first time I had it I had the spaghetti and it brough on terrible cravings, i was starving half an hour later. about a month or so ago I bought the macaroni elbows and made mac and cheese, and had no issues. I'm thinking having it with a fat (the cheese) made the difference.

            Just watch your portion size as well..they portion they base the values on isn't all that big i don't think.

            One thing I also remember reading is to make sure you don't overcook it? Apparently that can affect the carb count as well -- i've even heard this with regular pasta.
