  • Speaking of Greek Yogurt

I bought a container of Greek Yogurt last night at Whole Foods that is absolutely heavenly. It's called "Greek Gods". OMG, it's so wonderful. One of the best brands I've had.

I live in the boondocks, so the nearest Whole Foods or Trader Joes is about 50 miles away. Luckily a supermarket near work has Fage Total Greek yogurt. The whole milk yogurt sells out quickly.....

I can't wait to try that when I get to the dairy rung. I miss yogurt. What is different about the Greek yogurt?

Green yogurt is really creamy, a little tangy, and just better in my opinion. I think other yogurts are too runny for my taste.

I have yet to find plain greek yogurt in my country. The other week I thought I found some and was soooo excited! Until I discovered fruit was it and also sugar. ugh!

            Re: Speaking of Greek Yogurt

In UK I used to by Total Greek Yoghurt and add a little vanilla extract and Splenda.

Here in Germany I buy two 1Kg tubs of 10% fat Turkish Yoghurt (its the same stuff really) and throw it into a food mixer with a 500g jar of vanilla flavoured yoghurt which I find far too sweet by itself. The Turkish Yoghurt is about 5% carb and the flavoured yoghurt about 15%, so it averages down quite nicely in the 4:1 mix.

I don't eat cheese and don't have fatty food so the yoghurt keeps the fat content of my diet about right. I usually throw a few berries on the top.
