I adore these things and have been pondering how to get an accurate calorie/fat count on them.
First of all, I have one of those digital scales measures in grams/ounces/pounds..accurate to one gram.
So here's my thinking...
Get gram weight count of pepperoni first (I use Boar's Head Sandwich Pepperoni, 1 gram carb per ounce). Zap on paper towels/paper plate combo til crispy.
Weigh crispies after zapping.
Pre Zap counts: per 28 grams
Fat - 11 gr
Calories - 130
Carbs 1 (I am assuming zapping does not change the carb count)
Protein: 0
All pretty straight forward so far, lol.
If I have 28 grams of pepperoni before zappage & have say 20 grams afterwards. That would mean I lost 8 grams of fat. If memory serves me correctly 1gr of fat = approx 9 calories.
So.. 9 x 8 = 72
Post zap counts would then be:
Calories - 58 (130 - 72 calories lost due to fat on paper towels)
Fat - 3 gr. (11 minus the 8 grams lost in zapping)
Protein - 0
Carb - 1 gram
What do you all think?

I just can't do like, if I spray a baking sheet with Pam, then put my spicy wings on it to bake, how much Pam am I ingesting?! That takes too much of my life and it doesn't matter that much.
