  • Question about my deviled egg recipe

Hey ya'll... this is how I make deviled eggs, and I don't think there are any carbs in it.

    boiled eggs
    couple Tblsp. mayo (no carbs)
    couple squirts mustard
about 2 tsp. Splenda (I don't measure it, so I'm guessing)

I carb per egg egg, 2g for the 2 tsps splenda - if it's the kind in a box that's for baking with.

It's not the kind for baking; it's in the packets; I thought eggs didn't have any carbs; oops.

Next time you make it don't add the Splenda..its NOT needed.. I am like the queen of deviled egg makings around here and I have never put Sugar (before Atkins) or Splenda in them..

I like a tiny bit of horseradish in mine.

I do not understand why you would use splenda in deviled eggs. I also add some salt and peper to the mixture. I sprinkle them with paprika powder to make them look pretty also.

If it is the granulated kind of splenda in packets then you need to count one carb per packet as they add filler to them. It is the liquid splenda that has no carbs.

As to eggs, most carb counters list 0.6 carbs per egg.

Re: Question about my deviled egg recipe

My mom used to put sugar in deviled eggs too. Here in Indiana it's like a 'taste' thing. I've made mine without splenda, but every so often I'll throw a 'pinch' in if I'm making a dozen or so. But definately not 2 packets.

Oh yes, and you'll find the more you do this......AIR has carbs hon. AIR has carbs. Everything from coffee to spices has carbs sweetie.

                Sorry!

Same here, but sometimes I'll add a little curry powder for fun.

I like my deviled eggs slightly sweet; sometimes I add vinegar to add sour.
