  • Need help

    I like to make ranch dressing from the envelopes of powder from hidden valley ranch, but it calls for a cup of milk and a cup of mayo. I know we are not supposed to have any milk during induction so I wondered if anyone has any suggestions. Also I love the Creamy Southwestern Taco Soup from Linda's Low carb menu's & recipes, but does anyone know if it is okay to freeze it. I would love to make a really big pot and freeze in individual containers for grab and go meals. I love to have this dish for breakfast since I am so over eggs!!

    Hmmmm, I think I would freeze it without the cream cheese or the cream, then add those when you reheat it. This is just a guess on my part but any freeze ahead recipe I have ever made that called for cream or sour cream recommended adding them at the time of reheating.

      I dont know if this is right...but when i made the ranch..i added 1/2 c heavy cream, 1/2 sour cream to the 1 cup mayo. It was delish! The hardest part is not eating the whole thing in one day. lol

      As far as freezing, im pretty sure u can freeze anything. But taking the other posters advice sounds like a good idea..just withold the dairy and add it later.

        Thanks Di & Indymom for your suggestions. I will try the variation with the dressing and maybe I will just make a pot of soup large enough to last me Monday thru Friday to have for breakfast in the morning.
