  • Stuffed Hamburger Pie

Have any of you tried this? It's probably a recipe somewhere but I just sort of wing it.

Take a pie plate, and make a bottom 'crust' of hamburger meat just as you would do with pastry.
Make whatever kind of filling you want and put it in.
Pat out a top 'crust' of hamburger on a sheet of plastic wrap and then flip it on top.
    Seal the edges.
Cook at 350 for 1 hour.

So far I have stuffed it with sauteed up mushrooms, peppers, onions, added a bit of tomato sauce, topped it with mozza...it was like a pizza.

Last night I sauteed up mushrooms, onion, and wilted spinach and grated a bunch of cheddar cheese.

This reheats really well, and it's even good cold if you like that sort of thing( and I do!)

    Anyone have other ideas?

    OMG that sounds brilliant!!!!

I have only made the whooshie type of pie, with the cream cheese. I bet a pizza style would be really good!

Hmmm, now that I think of it, I have a can of pizza sauce that needs to be used up and some pepperoni slices. I was going to make bacon cheeseburger pie, put a pizza type pie sounds even better

I have thawed some ground beef and ground pork. I'll post results in about an hour. I already cooked the bacon, so it will be a bacon pepperoni pie with yellow pepper and onions!

      That sounds good!
The whooshie pie was too rich for us with all that cream cheese, but I'm going to do it again, cut the cream cheese down and maybe add some cumin or something.
