Ive noticed a lot of recipes call for Flax Meal. I have a box of "Milled Flax Seed" in my cupboard. Can I use it? Is there a big difference? Thank You!

Re: Flax Meal vs. Milled Flax Seed
If it's ground, then it's exactly the same thing as Flax meal. If it's whold seeds (though i'm thinking 'milled' is ground) than you need to grind it before you eat it. A coffee grinder works really well for this. Your body can't digest whole flax seeds, though it wont hurt you, they would just go right thru you and you wouldn't et the fibre and omega 3 benefits from it.Jen, 39, F

Re: Flax Meal vs. Milled Flax Seed
Technically, no. Flax would not be added until the seed/nut rung. However, for constipation/diarrhea issues, you can add flax to your plan during Induction. This is why I use it - and I just happen to make a muffin/"pizza" base/flat bread/"cake" twice a day with the four tablespoons I take daily instead of sprinkling it over/in foods....Originally posted by PinkLady260Is flax allowed on induction? Wondering if I can make flax cereal.
