if you can handle splenda you can candy your own ginger and suck on it or you can make the knox blox with ginger root and splenda but the texture may make you nausea worse. the only way to make a low carb hard candy (Splenda will not crystiazle) is with a sugar alcohol and that will make you problem worse.by the book atkinseer

If you make a really strong ginger infusion and use that recipe for low carb gummy worms, you'll have a good ginger confection. I used to make something similar in my pre-Atkins days---only with sugar.
Have you tried making a ginger granita? It's rather refreshing and if you have an ice shaver machine, you can just freeze cubes of ginger tea for a supply on hand.~Megs~

good ideas except I get a rash from Splenda however I wonder if I could use some of the (god forbid) sugar alcohols? but I am terrified at the horror stories of diarrhea and have a fear of trying them......or cyclamates??? I love fresh ginger it is fine to just chew but I can not always just pull a hunk out and pop it in my mouth...I love the idea of the granita but that woudl not work at work....the gummies may work can I make them with agar instead of gelatin I wonder?

from the cooks thesaurs
Each of these amounts will firm two cups of liquid: 3 tablespoons agar flakes = 2 teaspoons agar powder = 1 kanten bar Notes: Since gelatin is made from animal tissue, many vegetarians rely upon this seaweed derivative as a substitute. Like ordinary gelatin, agar is flavorless and becomes gelatinous when it's dissolved in water, heated, and then cooled. Agar, though, gels more firmly than gelatin, and it sets and melts at a higher temperature--it can even set at room temperature. Agar, like gelatin, is full of protein (though incomplete), but it also contains the rich array of minerals one would expect from seaweed. To use agar, just soak it in the liquid for about 15 minutes, bring it to a gentle boil, then simmer while stirring until it's completely dissolved. The liquid will gel as it cools. Acids weakens agar's gelling power, so if you're firming an acidic liquid, use more. Like gelatin, agar will break down if exposed to the enzymes of certain raw fruits, like kiwi fruit, papayas, pineapple, peaches, mangos, guavas, and figs. Cooking these fruits, though, destroys the enzymes. If you plan to add any of these fruits to a gelatin salad, it's a good idea to buy them in cans, since all canned fruit is pre-cooked. Agar comes in flakes, powder, or bars. Substitutes: gelatin (Substitute one tablespoon powdered gelatin for every tablespoon of powdered agar. Gelatin is made from animal by-products.)by the book atkinseer

I just put some fresh grated ginger in water to make tea....it is cheaper but thanks!...I really need candy to keep in my pocket and I am thinking the gummy would not work well either...guess I am out of luck here!!! I love the taste of ginger...remember the ting ting candy you got for me Lynne it was kind of gummy but in a wrapper ..that stuff was incredible!!! I am going to try a batch of agar gummies and see if it comes out ....maybe just with out a sweetener what the heck... if it does not work well lesson learned!Originally posted by LynneAtkins has a ginger tea which I make for my vertigo when I get it, I use ginger, water, lemon and some splenda. Then I just drink a sip or two when I get dizzy. Its not bad

If you like chewing on plain ginger, you can try to make the ginger gummies without sweetener.Originally posted by nurseladygood ideas except I get a rash from Splenda however I wonder if I could use some of the (god forbid) sugar alcohols? but I am terrified at the horror stories of diarrhea and have a fear of trying them......or cyclamates??? I JUST HAD A BRAINSTORM!!!!!!!!
Slice your ginger root thinly (like the thickness of a potato chip) and dehydrate or bake them until crisp!~Megs~

I don't think you have the right idea you don't spit it you swallow it and get your ginger that way. you just stick it in there like a chaw. I guess you could grind it up finer and use it as as snuff in front.by the book atkinseer
