? for folks with a Foreman grill

I've been frying up lots of hamburger patties and I'm getting tired of cleaning my stovetop, so I'm considering finally getting a Foreman grill. Maybe just the smallest one to make it easier and faster to fix some lunch. My question - it looks like it would be a pain to clean. Would I just be trading cleaning my stovetop for cleaning a greasy grill? Thanks for any help on this. The last thing I need is another kitchen doodad that I don't use.

i've had a foreman grill before and loved it. then after many, many years of use, the teflon started breaking down a little bit and purchased a different brand . both brands have been a wonderful addition to my cooking arsenal. so they are worth it and makes things much easier on atkins for DH and I. as far as cleaning goes, as long as you clean it right after you use it, it's fairly easy to maintain, just let it cool down a little and use the cleaning utensil provided with the grill to scrape the large pieces into grease trap and then a couple paper towels to wipe it down with. it also helps to use an aerosol cooking spray to keep things from sticking even though the teflon is non stick.

I agree I position my grill near the sink so grease drips there, then a quick wipe and all clean. I love mine

I love mine too. It's easy to clean and doesn't heat up the whole kitchen, which is great in the summer. I got it for Christmas last year and it's one of the best presents I've ever had.

I HATED my Foreman grill. Cleaning it was a real pain until I started using two sheets of Reynold's non-stick foil on it, one on top and one on bottom. The food still cooked well and I just tossed that greasy mess. After that grill wore out, I got a Hamilton Beach grill with removable plates. I just pop them into the dishwasher and all is well.

I have the small one and the big one. The teflon must be different on the big one because it is a snap to clean. Just wipes off with ease. The small one is a different story., have to scrub a little on it. Go big

The one I have is pretty easy to clean and the cooking surfaces snap off as well for easy cleaning.

Hey,

Like someone said above - go far detachable plates if you can, as it can be a real pain to clean.

They are great for burgers, including if you make your own - they kind of squish everything down and stop them falling apart when I make tuna burgers.
