Anyone in Canada buy these? The thought of just sitting with a bag of them and eating really icks me out. lol BUT I have some recipes that look good and call for them. Are they available here? Which stores should I be looking. I usually go to the same store every week, and haven't seen them there.

I'm in Canada, in B.C.
Old Dutch makes them and they call them Bac'n Puffs and you can pretty much find them wherever Old Dutch products are sold.
There's another brand that we found at a local grocery store here called Country Grocer....it's called, of all things, Porky's and it comes in plain and a few flavours. Avoid the flavours because the ingredients are not good.
Just keep looking, or better yet, ask your local grocery store to get them in. If they know there's a market they'll start to sell them.
I remember eating these as a kid and loving them, and when I started eating them again with Atkins I thought they were nasty nasty nasty! But they have such a great crunch, and it only takes a few to satisfy me.
Here's something I never thought I'd eat is to use pork rinds to scoop up tuna salad! It's really good, believe it or not!
I have a mini food processor and I'll crush a bunch of them, mix in some ground pepper, finely grated parmesan and rosemary, and coat chicken or pork with it. You can roll your meat in ranch dressing or mayo first and it turns out really yummy baked.

Thanks Moochiecat! Now I know what to look/ask for.
And thanks for the great ideas too. I've been making suppers for the family according to what I can eat, (can't be bothered cooking 2 meals) so far everyone has liked all the meals I've made. Would like to try the chicken with the crunchy coating like you mentioned. Get them over the fried chicken thing I hope lol

You can also use pork rinds for fried chicken. I just dip my chicken in egg then coat w/ the crushed pork rinds. You can pan-fry it or deep fry it like I do for my boneless chicken "wings".Originally posted by LuvschweetheartGet them over the fried chicken thing I hope lol
But I totally agree... they taste and smell NASTY! I just can't bring myself to eat them as a snack.
