  • Cheese/carb count question

Can someone please tell me how many carbs are in:

    1 oz swiss cheese
    1 oz cheddar cheese
    1 oz muenster cheese

I am having trouble converting from the 2 tbsp quantity that is in the DANDR book.

    Thank you!

    Re: Cheese/carb count question

Dr. Atkins said to count 1 ounce of cheese as 1 net carb.

D'oh! I just found in the book: "count one ounce of cheese as equivalent to one gram of carbohydrate".

Is muenster cheese allowed during Induction?

THank you Megs. I should have looked a few minutes longer before posting my question. I am wondering about muenster though. It isn't listed in the acceptable cheeses for induction.

          Re: Cheese/carb count question

All aged cheeses are okay for Induction. It doesn't matter if the aged cheese is hard (parmesan), semi-soft(jack cheese) or soft(Brie). As long as it is an aged cheese. Fresh cheeses like cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, mascarpone cheese, farmer's cheese, panir/panneer, aren't allowed.

Look at the back of the book. You'll find a carb counter there. You can also go to FitDay.com
