  • Who's a new cook?

Just wondering how many of us are now cooks thanks to Atkins. As I certainly am! Sure I've known how to cook since I was young, but never really bothered until I went on Atkins and had to prepare and cook fresh and unprocessed food. I used to be the queen of the microwave.

Really been enjoying this part of the board lately too for picking up hints, extra menu ideas and just fantastic recipes. So thanks to all of you who post down here

Hey, scrambled eggs in a microwave count . That was actually my first Atkins recipe, I got it from Micromini, an ex mod on this site. Her's is actually a little variation though, you crack a couple eggs in a mug, along with some mayo, some mustard, and whatever seasonings you like, and you microwave it for 20 secs, stir, again for 20, stir,a nd repeat till it is nice and creamy. I think she called it 'Warm Egg Salad'. Either way, it is easy, and very tasty.

I only started to cook when I started Atkins though. Before that I lived on restaurants and take-out, which is partially how I became the size I did. I am very glad I did learn though, it is a great skill to have, and learning how certain dishes are put together makes it easier to eat out as well.

Wow, that certainly describes me!! I was SO NOT A COOK before I started really studying and doing this WOE (why my results in the weight loss doesn't show it is a whole other story). Now I love to cook and I have a lot of friends on the Internet to thank for that!!! I will be posting more recipes and suggestions on this chat discussion!

I'm a newer cook. I always loved baking, but never cooking itself. I'm really beginning to enjoy cooking because the foods are so luxurious on this way of eating. Gourmet cooks use good, fresh ingredients and a lot of fats! Try THAT on Weight Watchers. Bwahahahaha!
