  • Thanksgiving thread..

Canadian Thanksgiving is just over a week away, so I figured this is a good time to start the Thanksgiving thread. Who has some legal ideas for the holidays? Our legal menu items will most likely be Turkey, squash, roasted cauliflower and cheese sauce and sweet potatoes (i'm in maintanence) and steamed brocolli, legal cheescake or s/f pumpkin pie.

has anyone planned for their thanksgiving yet? I know it's early for the US folks, but it's better to be prepared!!!!

    Re: Thanksgiving thread..

One of my goals in October is to try those faux mashed potatoes with the cauliflower. I can't imagine a Thanksgiving without mashed potatoes. And we normally have peas and corn and corn muffins with butter so we'll have to come up with suitable substitutes for those... I anticipate being on rung 4 or 5 by then...

We're having roasted duck for Canadian Thanksgiving and turkey for the US one. I defintely want to try the faux potatoes. Also thinking about a pitcher of iced raspberry herbal tea...yummy!

Probably some Atkins-friendly pumpkin cheesecake too!

Let's not forget the relish tray. Olives, stuffed celery, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, green onion and the wonderful deviled eggs.

              Re: Thanksgiving thread..

I've just restarted after months of just playing at this and not taking it seriously. I can't even tell you how many times I've "started over in the morning".

So this thread is perfect... one of my goals is to have a perfectly legal Thanksgiving instead of eating what I want and once again, "starting over in the morning".

              Bring on the ideas!

We usually spend a day on the beach on Thanksgiving with friends, and we grill all day, breakfast lunch and dinner. I do miss the turkey though.

As much as i love the fall colours and the cool crisp air (this year it rained all weekend though), i think i'd rather be on the beach with friends in Florida!!

It's funny because the last 2 years, we wore sweaters and jeans to the beach and were freezing (It was around 70 degrees F), and the vacationers were in their swimsuits. They think the locals are crazy.
