  • Pork Rind Help

what can I do to keep these from getting stale? Before I purchase these, I'd like to solve the problem I had my last go-round on Atkins. The smallest bag I've found is 2 ounces, and as I might eat 1/2 ounce a week, by the time I got to the bottom of the bag they've lost all of their crunch.

Hmmm...I'm only guessing, but maybe a more airtight container? Like a tupperware?

I have a foodsaver and it's been a life saver for me. Just seal it air tight right in the bag.

Just discovered they don't stay too crisp in an unopened bag either. Found one buried in the back of my pantry from last go round, so it IS over a year old. Just never thought of pork rinds as something that would "go bad" . Guess I will invest in one of those air sucky thingies.

I love pork rinds and eat them a few times a week. They don't last more than a couple of days. I usually roll up the bag and put them into a ziploc bag.

You won't reqret it. They are also great for keeping veggies fresher longer. And cheese will last forever when it's vacuum sealed.

I only do this to keep them out of sight, so I don't eat too many, but they stay fresh for a very long time. I roll down the top and put on a bag clip, them put them in the freezer. I keep the ones I have crushed for breading, french toast, etc., in a zip-lock in the freezer, too. This keeps the fat from going rancid.

I didn't even like pork rinds to begin with, but now if I don't put them out of sight, I can put away a whole bag in no time!
