Hey we only have a couple weeks to come up with our romantic, low carb dinner for Valentines day.
Are a box of Russel Stover Low Carb Sugar Free chocolates on the menu.

So, what is your low carb, romantic dinner going to me, and remember since this is "virtual" money is no limit.

Mine won't be home, so I will send with off him a box of the RS Chocolates. I found them at Walmart and I almost fell over!! (we never get the good stuff up here).

He is sharing a motel room with 2 other guys, they can deal with the gas LOL.

As for myself, I am kind of afraid to try them, I am not a huge fan of chocolate, but a treat would be nice.

I bought a bag of russel stover 'pecan delights'..they're turtle kind of candies, chocolate, caramel and pecans. Ate 3 of them last night..holy crap did i suffer. thought i was going to explode LOL. Threw the bag out this a.m. I'm usually pretty good with SA's, can have the odd atkins bar (though i really try to avoid them) and i do have the odd s/f chocolate bar.about once a month .but for some reason these ones were brutal?

I was hoping to give my hubbie the hint to get me a box of s/f chocolates at a local hand made choclolate shop but i think i'm put right off.

And it's a shame..because they tasted AWESOME!! LOL

My experience -- ONE piece is the limit per day. Otherwise, it's not pretty! Personally, I love a peppermint patty evey now and them! But only one!

No sugar free candy for me!

My romantic low carb dinner would be:
Bacon wrapped steak grilled to medium with a cajun seasoning rub
Steamed cauliflower with sourcream, green onions and cheese baked until the cheese is golden brown.
          Salad with all the fixings
Big glass of ice water to wash it down.
Female/32/Still too big, but getting smaller..

          Instant insanity!

I use an old recipe that called for potatos.

The basics are 1 large bag of frozen or 1 head of fresh. Break into florets and steam until tender. Let cool until you can handle them. Grate (yup grate) the cauliflower into a casserole dish, add in 1 medium container (16oz?) of sour cream and 3-4 green onions chopped. Mix all together. Top with about 1 - 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese. Bake in a 375degree oven until the cheese is golden brown.

Hope you enjoy it! It's a favorite around here.

Its a great recipe. Just make sure you have well drained cauliflower.

oh I have NO problem with that...especially with money not being an option!!! I have expensive taste and no budget for it!!!.....no low cab chocolates as I am not thinking that a bout of insane diarrhea would be that appealing during a romantic meal!!! :yikes :yikes :yikes

How about on the living room floor in front of the fire...lots of pillows and really good toe curling blues in the background ....we can start with ice cold frozen vodka in small glasses, some really good caviar....Iranian Osetra..... like Ian Flemming loved nested in a bowl of crushed ice served with a shared mother of pearl spoon, with just a dab of creme fraiche if aboslutely needed...then two giant cooked and cracked dungeness crabs and some grilled whole oysters spread out on nice tablecloth of newspapar on top of a plastic bag ... a bucket of clarified butter for dipping....with a wonderful garlicy salad of fresh crispy greens and olive oil...and more glasses of icey cold vodka.....berries and cream for dessert.....oh yeah I am an easy score with that meal!!!!! :nod :nod :nod

                      Price no object?

How about starting with seared foie gras in an intense reduction of black truffle and pheasant demiglace, paired with a crisp piece of flax bread and endive greens "melted" in foie gras butter?

As a palate cleanser, a sharp and not too sweet sorbet of fresh strawberries and cracked black pepper with a few drops of 20 year old balsamic vinegar. Sorbet made with sugar free syrup, lemon juice and fresh strawberry puree. Omit on Induction.

Next course, tiny plump lobster tails grilled on lemongrass skewers, topped with creme fraiche and osetra caviar.

For the main course, let's do a blackberry and cumin reduction sauce with a dash of Bordeaux or Cabernet Sauvignon to accompany a seared medallion of venison wrapped in cured duck "bacon". On Induction, substitute a black truffle scented demiglace for the blackberry-cumin sauce.

For dessert, a rich cheesecake with macadamia nut crust, drizzled with sugar free caramel, sugar free chocolate and crushed macadamias.

Hmm, If we can have whatever we like and money is no object we will of course go for an appetizer of Cheese Fondue and a main course of Lobster with melted butter (or Snow Crab legs) and a caesar salad with freshly grated Parmesano Reggiano. For dessert raspberries and cream for me and "death by chocolate" for the man!
