I tried these the other day with roast chicken and am addicted now.
It was a last-minute idea and panicking that they may not cook, I zapped them in the microwave for a few minutes till they went pale and soft but not quite done (I had to partially cover their bowl with microwave-safe plastic film cos they popped and bounced everywhere when they got too hot) then threw them into a shallow roasting dish drizzled with oil and some salt with the meat so they could absorb the flavours. Can't remember how much longer they took but they were ready at the same time as the meat.
Best of all, their radish taste disappeared and were similar to tiny roasted new potatoes- slighty shrivelled, soft but with a golden pale pink colour
.
I used a 200gram bag (7 ounces) which Fitday worked out as:
6.53g carb, of which 2.91g is fibre
1.09g protein
.98g fat
36.4 total calories
Absolutely yummy, low net carbs, and cheap!
Hope someone else likes them too.
