I eat bologna almost every day. I love to fry two pieces of Curtis bologna along with two eggs over easy, and put the eggs on top. Yum! The problem is today I was at the store, and started looking at different kinds of bologna. I use Curtis brand because it says it only has one carb per slice. Well when I got to looking at the actual ingredients, it said Dextrose! Is that not some type of sugar? If so, why is it only one carb, and all the other bolognas (sp) 4 or more carbs per slice?

Re: Bologna has hidden sugars?
Many, I'd even say most, processed meats contain sugar - you really, really need to read the labels and ask, and if they can't tell you, pass on it.Kate

Re: Bologna has hidden sugars?
The only speciality stores around here are health food stores. Other than that I don't know where to get meat or what kind. I am really wanting to stick to this, and so far it's great. I just hope I can overcome my sugar addictions, but so far so good.
It makes me so angry the way the food industry around here puts hidden sugar in everything. It's like they know we are addicted, and they are pushing us to becoming more addicted by trying to sneak it in foods.
