  • Meatloaf Question

I was just thinking about what to make the fam for dinner and realized I haven't made meatloaf in a while. It is always a fam favorite and was wondering if it would be induction safe if I used my regular recipe and instead of breadcrumbs, using pork rinds. (all the other ingredients are all on the safe list). Does this sound like it could work?

Sounds good to me! You can also use minced (cooked) veggies as an alternative to breadcrumbs... like mushrooms or eggplant etc.

      Re: Meatloaf Question

You may use it. But the breadcrumbs in meatloaf are there for 2 reasons: to extend the meat (so you don't have use so much meat to feed many people) and to make the loaf tender and moist.

I use finely chopped cooked vegetables like onions, celery and mushrooms in the place of the fillers like pork rinds or breadcrumbs.

I use pork rinds it tastes great. Just don't leave any bigger pieces of the pork rinds because they get soft and soggy and taste weird. lol

that sounds YUMMY! I make meatloaf in muffin tins and store them for durring the week, quick fix kinda thing, and i use a lil bit of Almond flour as a substitute for the bread crumbs! Mighty tastey! Good luck!

              Re: Meatloaf Question

they make low carb ketchups and Linda Sue has a few homemade ketchups on her site. I made some the other day and I probably won't waste my money on the store bought kind anymore this was just as good.

I didn't use the clove or allspice because I didn't have those and still tasted just like ketchup. I also found a recipe for lc homemade bbq sauce online and made it the same time I was making the ketchup. I used it on sausage and it tasted great my family liked it better than store bought.

                Hello Shiningstarr!

I like to use parmesian cheese in replacement of bread crumbs. There's a great mexicali meatloaf that I put in the main dish recipe forum if your interested. It's really delish and moist. Here, I'll bump it up for you.
