You can snip off that end piece with a pair of kitchen shears. I am like you, they may be more hassel than they are worth, when I could cook a chicken leg and get more meat.

Small drumsticks do make rather good "wings" But they gotta be the small ones or they are actually too meaty to make a nice crispy wing

The wings you find in with the rest of the chicken are whole wings. I cut mine into 3 sections at each joint. The tip of the wing portion I throw away or use for stock. The other two portions are what you would normally find in a pre made bag of wings. One that looks like a mini drumstick, and the other being the two bone portion (not sure what to call it).

I live in California and we have Franks hot sauce out here too. Love love love Franks + butter. I also like Megs add a dash of garlic to mine. The best I have ever had are deep fried until crispy, then rolled/dipped into sauce then served. I usually bake mine though for less fat. There are so many choices available. Check out Linda's site for various sauces and rubs.. like BBQ, teriyaki or a chile and lime.

I just bought Frank's Red Hot Buffalo Wing Sauce. I can't wait to try it!

I am lucky. I live in Buffalo, there are buffalo wings in every resturant.
