Cholula certainly isn't bad, although for Mexican style Valentina is my favorite.

*** Kickin' Horseradish sauce is quite good as well, and the horseradish tang is fun.

Texas Pete is my favorite mild hot sauce, nice vinegar tang, and it converts any Frank's Red Hot fanatic who tries it.

I think original tabasco is overrated, but the green jalepeno stuff, the garlic variety, and the habanero stuff are great mild flavor sauces that don't overpower with heat. The Tabasco Chipotle is pretty good, but I much prefer Buffalo brand when I can find it.

El Yucateo mexican hot sauces are pretty darn decent, and easy to find at Wal-Mart, I always keep some around, even if there are better options.

I like Datil Do It Datyl pepper sauce that I brought back from St. Augustine. I actually love all of the Datil (or is it Datyl?) pepper sauces I brought back, I will actually have to consider going back to that god forsaken state again when I run out, or find a good mail order source. The Datil pepper has a nice burn, similar to a habanero, but a taste more similar to cayenne, great stuff.

Blair's Q line is quite good. The Habanero/Mango is really fun sauce, but due to some sugar content it is best left until OWL. Blair's Death Sauce is great, although I was underwhelmed by the After Death. It has much more spice, but a really bizarre off flavor.

I recently picked up some Dave's Ultimate Insanity Sauce. It has a nice strong garlic flavor, a solid if not overwhelming kick, and a pretty complex taste profile, definately recommended.

Frontrera Grill Pepitas and Chile de Arbol sauce is thick, creamy, and toasty, again, good for foods where you don't want to overwhelm with spice, but want to add a little flavor.

I have a little bottle of hot sauce from a brand called 'Mama Sita's' that I picked up at a Philipino grocery store. It has a great complex flavor, and no ingredients other than peppers, vinegar, salt, and water. I wish I knew what peppers were used, it tastes like everything tabasco should be, but isn't.

At any point in time I have about 20 - 30 bottles of various hot sauces on hand, six or seven varieties of buffalo wing sauce (I really like the Anchor Bar Sauce and the Hooter's 3-mile island), several tubes of wasabi, a couple bottles of horse radish, several things of spicey mustard, plus a lot of variety in dried chiles, chile powders, and fresh peppers in the fridge. I guess I am a bit of a heat addict.

Wow! Thanks for the hot sauce reviews! I only eat the Chipotle Tabasco 'cause I am afraid the others will bother my stomach ( history of reflux trouble!). What do you recommend that is mild, flavorful and not likely to result in pain -- it seems that cayenne and paprika are troublesome, but chipotle is not (in small quantities). I found out the hard way to avoid wasabi! Thought I was being stabbed in the gut after having some excellent salad dressing made with that stuff!

Dang Nullo.. you still have tastebuds left that can taste?!

I'm new to hot sauces.. I've always been afraid to try them because they might be too hot. Tried Cholula at Ihops on a dare and fell in love! I'm going to have to try a couple of those sauces you mentioned.. hmm might become my new obsession!

Cholula is ultra-mild as far as most sauces go, no need to be afraid.

I used to have absolutely awful acid-reflux, to the point where I was taking pills every night before I went to bed. Since I started Atkins it completely dissapeared, I can eat a bowl of habaneros and not feel the pain in my GI tract (the mouth is another matter). Do you still drink sodas? I am not sure if it was the carbs or the carbonation that was causing it (I used to down near a twelve pack of coke per day), but whichever way, it is gone now, so I am happy.

origam it may be too much but....

here is the best recipe....you know what is in it ...it is so easy and tastes great with curries Mexican food whatever!!! use sparingly in the beginning!

20 big fresh habaneros or scotch bonnet peppers * (I have made this with other chiles and it is really good as well)
            1 1/2 cubs white vinegar
whirr in the blender or food processor then take it out side to take the lid off!!!!....

4 allspice berries barely crack the allspice berries and drop them in shake well and use!

I learned this one in the Caribbean where I enjoyed wonderful hot sauce from vendors who made it and then found someone to tell me how to do it...so easy!!!!!!

I have added fruit flavors to it but it is best as is!
