"Hello Hello and Welcome to another addition of SuperDave LIVE!!!
<audience cheers>
Today ladies and gentlemen is HOT WINGS 101!! I am going to tell you how to make a wonderful version of hot wings that is low carb friendly and awsome to eat!!
First off..these wings are going to be baked.....YES BAKED.....why baked? Well, when food is bake slowly, it tends to be more tender. Typically, hot wings are fried. Not these babies..
Make sure when you make hot wings that you use the fresh wings..NEVER the frozen kind!! Why? Frozen hot wings are stored in a solution that has preservatives and additives you body doesn't need so we will use the fresh.
Alway wash your wings ( sounds kinda silly doesn''t it....ha ha) . Sometimes small feathers can still be stuck to the wing so make sure they are cleaned really well.
Get yourself a good cookie shet and over it with parchment paper.
Parchment paper can be bought at your local grocer in the aluminum foil section....or just use foil to cover the cookie sheet so that clean up is a breeze.
Lay the rinsed wings down uniformly, and salt and pepper to taste. I actually use a bit of garlic salt and onion salt as well.
8 tablespoons paprika
3 tablespoons cayenne
5 tablespoons freshly ground black pepper
6 tablespoons garlic powder
3 tablespoons onion powder
6 tablespoons salt
2 1/2 tablespoons dried oregano
2 1/2 tablespoons dried thyme
This can be stored in an air tight jar for up to 3 months.
Bake the wings at 350 for about 20 to 25 min.
Now while these are baking, lets move on to the sauce....
In a sauce pan on medium heat , combine half a stick of butter and your favorite hot sauce....I happen to like Frank's hot sauce. I would use 2wice as much sauce as butter in the pan.
Next flavor the sauce with garlic salt ( to taste ), onion salt, cayanne pepper, garlic, sugar free honey, and 2 packs of splenda. Mix well and lower heat after the sauce is combined and the butter is melted.
Put the sauce in the refridgerator for about 15 minutes. Why you ask? Well, the butter is use to coat the wings. Butter as we know it is fat. As it cools, the sauce begins to thicken slightly.
Back to the wings.....Pull the wings out of the over and let stand for 3 to 5 minutes. We want the wings to cool so that the sauce doesn't slide off the wings. If teh wings are really hot out of the oven and we add the sauce...the sauce will not coat the wing as it should.
Now grab a big bowl and add the wings to it. Grab your sauce and pour over the top and coat the wings....
Grab a plate and cover it with lettuce and put the wings on top....
I happen to love blue cheese dressing for the wings..but make sure you get the low carb version.
I hope you enjoy these as much as I have....
