  • Bacon with trace amounts of sugar

So, I have a package of bacon in my fridge that promises that it's 0 carbs. However, amongst it's ingredients is sugar. I'm assuming that means it simply has less than 1 carb of sugar per serving. Is it alright to eat if I count each serving as having 1 carb for the purpose of the diet? How has it impacted those of you who have tried using it in limited quanities (I'd be limiting to no more than 2 servings, 4 strips, in a day)?

I did this about eight years ago and lost a lot of weight at the time, but I don't think I ever had bacon on it back then, oddly enough, so I didn't have to deal with this issue. I'd prefer not to waste the food I've bought, obviously.

    Hello Charm,
I personally avoid sugar at all cost.
I've found that Jimmy Dean Premium bacon doesn't contain sugar.
Best of health and lite to you and yours!
    Sincerely, Sherri

I just checked the package and the Atkins Advance Milk Chocolate Delight Shake contains 1 gram of sugar. So I'm assuming if I can drink 1 gram of sugar in an Atkins shake, it's alright to have less than a gram in some bacon.

Although, on the other hand, the Atkins Nutritional seems to have gone in a questionable direction since Dr. Atkins' unfortunate passing. I was shocked when I found out I couldn't get Atkins Basic #3 vitamins or Essential oils anymore! I had to look around carefully for substitutes that didn't contain sugar or starches (If I am going to have a little sugar or starch, it's not going to be in my vitamins!) and order them off the Internet. Didn't Atkins Nutritionals start out with mainly just vitamins and oils? If they wanted to cut down business to just a few things, that'd be one of the things you'd think they'd keep!
