  • Ideas for something to dip my shrimp in?

Hey everyone, I love shrimp! Yum! And the beauty of it is that we can have it while doing Atkins! Yay.

So does anyone have any good ideas or recipes for something tasty to dip my shrimp in? I know we can't have cocktail sauce (sad) because of all the sugar. I was using just melted butter but it's kinda bland. Any ideas anyone? Thanks!

I use the sugar-free ketchup and make my own cocktail sauce.
Or you can dip in clarified butter. Yummy!!

I use horseradish mayo. yum yum.

Or I make my shrimp with some salt, pepper and sesame oil, so it seasons while cooking - preheat oven to 400, coat the shrimp (peeled), and spread evenly on a baking sheet, then stick them in for 4 minutes and they're awesome.

Since I saw someone else gave a recipe suggestion instead of a dip, I will, too--take the shrimp and a jalapeno slice and wrap with bacon and bake or grill until bacon's crisp. It is soo good! I am a shrimp lover, too (when it's on sale!)

We use this product often with shrimp:

Emeril's spice mix. Dust your shrimp with as much as you want, according to taste, then put them on the grill. These we serve with a side of hot sauce.

We also grill shrimp and serve them on a plate with some guacamole.

A bit more labor intensive is to wrap them in pancetta (bacon), grill them and serve with a pesto sauce; a bit of lemon zest. We use grilled veggies as a side dish to these meals.

I think I would love me some shrimp with guacamole.. marriage of two great foods! I love them piled in an avocado half so the guac would be just a step up.

I love good old fashioned cocktail sauce. Low carb ketchup (I like Heinz low sugar), horseradish and a squeeze of lemon juice.

I make the same thing as Jill, it is great.

I am bringing some homemade cocktail sauce with me to our Thanksgiving Meal. We go to this huge buffet that has plenty of Atkins friendly food to keep me happy. Fresh Whole Salmon on ice and peel and eat shrimp is better than stuffing IMO. I will also be bringing my own salad dressing to mix with their huge salad choices.
