Has anyone made homemade Jell-O with plain gelatin and SF kool-aide?

    Re: Homemade Jell-O

You can follow the instructions on the box of Knox unflavored gelatin for making your own version of "jello". Personally, I wouldn't use Kool-Aid, but would use the flavor extracts you can find in the spice section of most supermarkets.

This is of interest to me b/c I really liked the Crustless Key Lime Pie (I think I got it from one of your posts, Meg), but I did not like the aspartame in the SF jello, nor the after-effects of it. I'd like to modify this recipe to make it healthier.

So, Knox unflavored, and some kind of flavor extracts...I wonder if the almond flavor one would work? I suppose you have to use artifical sweetener, my current fave is Splenda...

Any more tips on this idea?
