    Re: Eggs

It amazes me how people think eggs are unhealthy.....they are probably on the of most healthy and nutritious items in our refrigerators. They are also very versatile. Don't be afraid of eggs -- not just the white..the whole egg!

The egg story is a reminder how powerful some ideas can be. When they did their eggs studies in the 70s they fed the participants dried egg yolks and the cholesterol levels went up. So then we got all those recommendations to cut eggs. And I think this is what people believe when they think eggs are unhealthy.
But recent research has proved that if you eat the whole eggs it can actually lower cholesterol. This is because eggs contain naturally protective lecithin which reduces absorption of cholesterol (this had been destroyed in the drying process.
      Eggs totally rock.

        Re: Eggs

EGGS are A Perfect Food source. Don't let ANY governing body or commercial media outlet or any carbohydrate producing corprately funded study dissuade you from that truth.

Perfect protien source. Perfect fat source. Excellent nutritional value. And low carb to boot! We are so lucky to have them.

The guys who make Cornflakes and toaster strudel want you to think eggs are unhealthy so you will eat more of their refined crap... THAT IS WHY WE WERE ALL SO FAT.

Try and be open to the opposite of General consensus, listen and learn from those who have become healthy by adopting this lowcarb lifestyle... The proof is in these forum pages. Read AND Learn!

        Good luck.

While I was never afraid of eating eggs, I never knew the actual reason why people consider them unhealthy. Thanks for clarifying that, Liv!

Sorry to hear about your grandfather Sunny, and that the eggs did for him at 96. Maybe he'd have made 97 if he'd never had an egg! (j/k)

I find it funny that someone with only 7 post comes on here and says that more than two eggs a day are bad for you. All these newbies on here don't bother researching Atkins nor do they bother to read his book. Then they try to tell us what is good or bad? LOL!

I eat at least 3 eggs every morning. Most of the time fried with bacon. I am fine. Cholesterol is down, bp is down, weight is down, and lean muscle is UP!

Sorry if this has caused so much trouble.

I'm not really confirming that more than 2 eggs a day are bad, especially being newbies is one of the reason that we may talk nonsense as well.

I get this from heavy-metal music, but not from eggs.

Is this an allergy? Did you have it checked by the doctor?

Eggs are incredibly versatile and have an almost perfect macronutrient ratio (63% fat, 2% carbs, 35% protein), thus being an excellent food choice for people following Atkins.
