  • Citric Acid- has carbs or not?

Hi everyone, I am not form the US and want to use Ciric Acid in making my eggwhites whipped cream and here I dont have any nutritional data on the citric acid packaging, so was wondering if someone happens to use this stuff and maybe has a package with nutritional facts on its back.
Internet didnt helped much, only 1 good result

    Nutritional Information for Citric Acid@Everything2.com

but nothing to back it up, says no carbs, so anyone has experience with using this acid, thanks in advance for any help

It has no nutritional value according to calorieking.com

    For 1 tsp:

    Calories 0
    (Kilojoules 0)
    % DV**Total Fat0 g0% Sat. Fat0 g0% Trans Fat0 gCholesterol0 mg0% Sodium0 mg0% Total Carbs.0 g0% Dietary Fiber0 g0% Sugars0 gProtein0 g

Out of curiousity why do you add it to whipped cream or egg whites? I know you can add cream of tartar powder to egg whites to help stabilize them, but it sounds like citric acid just adds a tanginess?

    Difference: citric and ascorbic acid

Citric acid is used commercially to enhance the tartness in fruit-flavored candy and in soft drinks. It is also added to some ice creams to keep fat globules from coagulating. Some bakers use it in sourdough bread to produce an especially assertive tang.

Yeah, mostly for the taste, it holds the foam longer as any acid and since lemon has carbs, if this doesn't, I can consider the opportunities for making lemonade and other lemon-related things, just imagine same as lemon, without the guilt. Just it would be great if someone has really used this acid to confirm its safe.
I read some "professional" articles concerning this acid, and it was mentioned that after the acid reacts with something it can change its nutritional properties slightly, but it is all fuzzy for me, so if someone with a chemistry degree reads this, we may get a professional opinion,

      thanks
