    Szechuan Chicken Wings Recipe

    Chicken wings - 12 to 15
Dry chili flakes - 1 to 2 teaspoons
    Orange - 1
    Ginger - 5 slices
    Minced garlic - 1 teaspoon
    Green onion - 2 (chopped)
    Honey - 1 to 2 teaspoons
Light soy sauce - 1/4 cup
    Sesame oil - 2 to 3 tablespoons
    Corn starch - 2 teaspoons

Grate about 2 teaspoons of orange peel, and juice the orange to make about 1/3 cup of orange juice.
Mix the orange peel, juice, ginger, garlic, green onion, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, and red chili flakes. Mix well, and then evenly coat the chicken wings.
Let it stand for 30 to 45 minutes The longer the better - over night if you wish.
In a large frying pan, add 3 tablespoon of oil, and turn heat on medium-high. Add in the chicken wings and reserve the sauce. Fry one side of the chicken wing for 7 to 10 minutes. Flip and fry the other side of the chicken wing.
Cook until the chicken wings are browned.
Take the chicken sauce and boil in a small pot. Add the corn starch to thicken. Serve this with the chicken wings.
You can adjust the chili pepper in this recipe depending on how spicy you want your chicken wings. This is a fantastic chicken wing recipe to make for your family or entertain guests.

    -Enjoy!!!

I'd wager that that recipe isn't even Maintenance safe for anything other than a rare treat, you have pure starch, and two forms of pure sugar in it, hardly Atkins cooking at all.

lets mold it a bit and make it weightloss friendly ...I do a version that is just as tastey and far less carbs ...
No offense Dave this will make it more friendly and I always tweek recipes so this is not personal!!!

        Chicken wings - 12 to 15

Dry chili flakes - 1 to 2 teaspoons (I use New Mexican red chile and increase it to a tbl)

Orange - 1 (skip it and use a couple of tbl lemon or lime juice instead)

        Ginger - 5 slices

        Minced garlic - 1 teaspoon

        Green onion - 2 (chopped)

Honey - 1 to 2 teaspoons (skip it if you want sweet add splenda)

Light soy sauce - 1/4 cup

Sesame oil - 2 to 3 tablespoons (I would add toasted sesame seeds here as well if on nut rung)

Corn starch - 2 teaspoons (skip it and just cook it off a bit)

I use the same method but as I am baking the wings I keep dipping them in the sauce and cooking it on the wings in the oven .....dip and bake until they are nice and sticky .....it is induction friendly with out the sesame but owl friendly with ....hope you don't mind Dave?......

        Love Nursey!

do not stop with the recipes Dave!!! it is fun to try to spot the carbs like a game!!! I like the challenge!!!.....as long as you are not offended!!!...that would be bad!!....keep them coming!!!....we are all on a learning curve here that is for sure...I think Nullo and I had a long dialog about adding a bit of orange juice to my fish stew a while back ...I had labeled it "induction friendly" and with the juice it really wasn't ...citrus even in small amts can cause people who are sensitive I guess to bump out of ketosis...I am not one of those and have used orange and bitter orange as a flavoring all along...so live and learn!... :hug
